The meeting took place within the World Economic Forum in Davos.

(Kazan, January 26, Tatar-inform). Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov has today in Davos, Switzerland, met with the Philips Electronics chief market leader and member of the executive committee Ronald de Jong, the President of Tatarstan’s press service reports.

The meeting was held within the 2012 World Economic Forum.

The main subject for discussion was future cooperation within joint projects. President of Tatarstan director of External Relations Department Iskander Muflikhanov said the company’s management had displayed a serious interest in expanding the mutually beneficial cooperation with Tatarstan.

The parties discussed areas of work on projects in the fields of modernising medical equipment in hospitals and clinics in Tatarstan. Besides, using Philips Electronics lighting solutions in sports venues was negotiated.

Tatarstan governor Rustam Minnikhanov proposed forming a working group, to elaborate on some of the projects. Ronald de Jong could in the next few months visit Kazan.

Tatarstan was the first region, where Philips Electronics within a new regional development programme in November 2011 opened a representation. Offices in Krasnodar, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk and Rostov-on-Don are planned to be opened.

Besides maintaining and developing relations with distributors and retailers, Philips plans to develop in the regions an in- and out-of-warranty service system. The main strategy is to position on the local market all three business units, Philips Lighting, Philips Healthcare and Philips Consumer Lifestyle.
