Ankara hopes that a Turkish-Russian summit will be held soon after the Russian presidential election and expects Moscow to suggest the summit date, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said in an interview with Interfax upon the end of his Russian visit, reports Interfax.
He said the summit would certainly be held after the Russian election and Turkey would wait until Russian partners propose an acceptable date in the next few months after the election.
Davutoglu said that the summit should take place in Turkey, within the framework of the Russian-Turkish High Level Cooperation Council.
The Council has annual meetings. The Joint Committee for Strategic Planning convened on Thursday, and the summit is ahead, he said.
