Half of the buildings have been repaired.

(Kazan, January 25, Tatar-inform, Emma Sitdikova). Journalists in Kazan were on Wednesday shown and told how the modernisation of the CRCH was progressing. The tour was held by Tatarstan health minister Airat Farrakhov and hospital’s chief medical officer Rafael Shavaliev.

Half of the hospital buildings have been repaired, the modernisation is scheduled to be completed by the end of the summer.

Patients continue to be received despite the overhaul being in full swing. The repair plan includes both renovating the exterior and the logistics, to resolve arising problems as quickly and efficiently as possible.

The modernisation is mainly being carried out in the reception and diagnostics building, where a state-of-the-art reception ward has been built and all the diagnostics resources concentrated. Short-term stay units and convenient conditions for children (play zones) and parents have been provided here.

Conveniences for children with limited abilities have been provided as well, with elevators, special lavatory equipment and reception rooms in place.

The builders did not use the traditional hospital design, instead creating a bright-coloured interior, so that the patients had pleasant impressions from the stay.

“The alterations are quite a few and all of them are, no doubt, positive. When the repair is completed, it will be a fairy tale,” doctors in the hospital shared.

The ophthalmology, urology, ENT, intensive therapy and newborn intensive therapy, functional and ultrasound diagnostics, computer tomography, angiography and laser surgery units are being put into operation. All of them have new technologies and standards implemented.

The modernisation programme was launched in January 2011, the operations planned for 2011 have been completed, with over 17.5 thousand square metres, costing 263 million roubles, repaired.
