The Kazan volunteers’ work was appreciated by the Olympics organising committee, Marat Bariev said.

(Kazan, January 25, Tatar-inform). Five Kazan 2013 volunteers last night returned from Austria’s Innsbruck, where they had for three weeks taken training at the First Winter Youth Olympics.

The Kazan 2013 volunteers had won the right to take part in the Youth Olympics based on a competitive selection held by the games organising committee late in 2011. A good command of foreign languages, as well as a volunteer work experience at large sports competitions, were compulsory conditions for participating in the Olympics. Owing to their participation in dozens of international test competitions held in Kazan in the run-up to Universiade 2013, Tatiana Nikulina, Albina Khusainova, Denis Gordiyko and others had no problem passing the selection and taking the training.

The work done by the Kazan volunteers was appreciated by the Olympics organising committee, Russia Olympic Committee chief Marat Bariev told the young people at a personal meeting, the Russian Sport and Tourism’s Ministry’s press service reports.

A total of 20 thousand volunteers will have to be involved in Universiade 2013 in Kazan.
