Tatarstan State Symphony Orchestra invited to festival in Chicago 19 January 2012,11:08

(Kazan, January 18, Tatar-inform, Lucia Kamalova). Tatarstan State Symphony Orchestra has been invited to perform at an international festival in Chicago. Orchestra’s artistic director and chief conductor Alexander Sladkovsky on Wednesday said it during a videoconference at Tatar-inform.

Negotiations are underway, he said. “There is the minutes of meeting, only technicalities have to be finalised,” A. Sladkovsky noted. The orchestra is expected to perform there in August 2013, after Universiade in Kazan. A total of four concerts are planned to take place in America.

“It is a very serious level, which we cannot go below. It is a huge breakthrough for us all. If everything goes well, it is our closest prospect,” A. Sladkovsky commented.

The orchestra in 2011 with great success appeared in the Russian capital. There is an agreement for the orchestra this year to give four more concerts in Moscow and other Russian cities. Besides, they are in June invited to Austria, to take part in a classical music festival. Four concerts will be given in Klagenfurt, in which foreign conductors will work with the Tatarstan orchestra as well.
