The sides will discuss issues of military and technical cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan.

(Kazan, September 2, Tatar-Inform). The Presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan, Dmitry Medvedev and Ilkham Aliyev, will discuss in Baku military and technical cooperation. An official visit of the Russian head of state to Azerbaijan will be held on September 2-3.

As a top official in the Kremlin administration told ITAR-TASS, the sides “will discuss issues of military and technical cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan.” At the same time, he refused to specify what aspects of military cooperation will be discussed.

The source noted that during talks the sides will hardly touch upon the topic of operation of the Russian military base in Gyumri (Armenia). “We have fully fledged military cooperation with Azerbaijan,” the source said. “That’s why this is not at all the main issue, the main thing here is the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement.”

According to him, Azerbaijan is not worried very much over Russia’s military aid to Armenia. “We equally inform the Azerbaijanian and Armenian sides,” the top official of the presidential administration stressed.
