Rustam Minnikhanov pays working visit to Kazakhstan

Heads of the two republics discussed development of economic, scientific-industrial and cultural cooperation.

(Kazan, August 26, Tatar-Inform). Cooperation in economy, science and culture between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Tatarstan was discussed at the meeting of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov on Wednesday. The meeting took place in Astana, RT presidential press-service informs.

Nursultan Nazarbaev expressed confidence that cooperation between Kazakhstan and such a large region of the Russian Federation as Tatarstan, traditionally based on friendship and trust, will be developing rapidly.

As it was noted at the meeting, the prospect fields of the partnership are machine-building, oil and petrochemical industries, agriculture, etc. The parties consider realization of joint innovative projects in road construction and petrochemistry.

Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting with the Republic of Kazakhstan Prime Minister Karim Masimov as part of his visit to Kazakhstan. The following officials took part in the meeting: from Tatarstan side – Tatarstan Vice-Premier – Minister of Agriculture and Foodstuff Marat Akhmetov, Tatarstan plenipotentiary representative in the Republic of Kazakhstan Damir Ismagilov, Tatarstan President’s aide Iskander Muflikhanov and others; from Kazakhstan side – representatives of the agriculture ministry, top management of KazAgro state holding.

The parties discussed further cooperation in joint projects with JSC KAMAZ, JSC Kazan Helicopter Plant and other issues. Particular attention was paid to the issue of fodder grain delivery from Kazakhstan to the Republic of Tatarstan.
