A knife-wielding intruder tried to break into Paris Hilton’s home overnight.

(Kazan, August 25, Tatar-Inform). Paris Hilton awoke to find a knife-wielding intruder trying to break into her Los Angeles-area home overnight.

"So Scary, just got woken up to a guy trying to break into my house holding 2 big knifes. Cops are here arresting him," the 29-year-old was quoted as tweeting by ABC News.

The would-be intruder, who woke up Hilton by banging on the windows of her Sherman Oaks home, was arrested around 6:30am on Tuesday (US time), Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Richard French confirmed. The man, said to be in his 30s, was booked on suspicion of burglary.

Hilton's publicist has released a statement saying: "Paris is naturally shaken by the events but is unharmed and well. She is very thankful to her security team and the police for their swift and diligent response."
