A conference of the Kazan local branch of the United Russia party was held at “Pyramid” complex on Thursday.

(Kazan, August 19, Tatar-Inform, Alia Sabirova). A conference of the Kazan local department of the United Russia party was held at “Pyramid” complex on Thursday.

First Deputy Secretary of the party’s regional political council, Tatarstan State Council Deputy Chairman Alexander Gusev, Mayor of Kazan, secretary of the United Russia party’s regional branch political council Ilsur Metshin, head of the party’s Kazan branch executive committee Nail Khusnutdinov and over 1000 participants of the conference.

The key issue on the agenda was the project of the party’s Kazan branch election program at the election of the Kazan City Duma deputies on October 10, 2010. Ilsur Metshin made the keynote report. He summed up results of the last five years in the city’s life. “We can say these 5 years is the period of turns for the better,” the mayor said.

“Improving our citizens’ life standard is the main thing,” Ilsur Metshin said. He added that the main value in life is health. The United Russia branch election campaign program will be aimed at improving the health level, all demographically important conditions of Kazan people’s life. The program will be called “Five Years of Health”.

In accordance with the program, repairs at medical institutions will be carried out with priority rates; particular attention will be paid to children health centers and maternity welfare centers. The “Five Year of Health” mega-project will be construction of a new emergency hospital which will serve as a tool for decreasing the mortality rate in the city.
