The situation is grave in the Alkei, Apastov, Vysokogor, Drozhzhanov, Yelabuga, Novoshemin and Rybno-Slobod regions.
(Kazan, August 30, Tatar-inform). The Tatarstan Agriculture Ministry is concerned about a growth in wildfires in Tatarstan’s rural regions. The situation is grave in 9 regions, including Alkei, Apastov, Vysokogor, Drozhzhanov, Yelabuga, Novoshemin and Rybno-Slobod.The droughty summer has caused an increase in wildfires. Despite that a requisite set of specifically designed measures is being applied in the regions, the number of fires has not yet decreased. To save agricultural facilities from fire under anomalous heat, the Tatarstan Agriculture Ministry recommends agricultural chiefs to carry on with the set of fire prevention measures designed on April 19 this year by ministry specialists.
Agricultural machinery should be equipped with deflectors and emergency firefighting devices. Measures need to be taken to arrange dams, driveways to natural and artificial reservoirs; water towers have to be equipped with devices allowing water collection by firefighting machines. Burning garbage, dry grass and straw in the fields needs to be stopped. A voluntary fire brigade in each settlement needs to be on high alert, reports the ministry at its official site.
