Russia – Country of Sports” forum brought together heads of Russian and foreign sports organizations and distinguished athletes in Moscow.

(Kazan, July 30, Tatar-Inform). The Russian Federation President Dmitry Medvedev will participate on Friday in the forum “Russia – Country of Sports”, which is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Moscow Olympics in 1980.

The forum opened on Thursday and brought together heads of Russian and foreign sport organizations and distinguished athletes, Itar-Tass reports.

“Such a representative character of the meeting and the range of discussed issues speak about the prestige of our country as a world sports power,” Medvedev is quoted as saying in a message of greetings to the forum.

The President recalled Russia is getting ready for the Universiade-2013 in Kazan and Winter Olympics in Sochi in 2014. “The success will depend on coordinated work of the state, professional and business communities, and our foreign partners,” Medvedev said.
