Attention was paid to implementation of mathematical methods in ecology.

(Kazan, July 29, Tatar-Inform). The Russian-Italian summer school “Spatial Analysis and Modeling in Ecology and Geo-ecology” – SAMEG’2010 has closed at Kazan University.

The school was organized by the Geography and Ecology Department on July 18-27 as a part of the Russian and Italian universities consortium, which created the Italian-Russian Institute of Ecological Research and Education. Lecturers and students from universities of Italy’s Bari and Palermo cities, and also Moscow State University, Perm and Kazan universities took part in the educational forum.

The school curriculum included lectures and practical classes. Some classes were held on the territory of unique nature sites – Raifa Reserve and Pechischinsky geological cross-section.

Particular attention of the school program was given to implementation of mathematic methods in ecology, Kazan Federal University press-center informs.
