(Kazan, July 28, Tatar-inform). The International Air Show in the British city of Farnborough, held once in two years, completes its operation on Sunday against the backdrop of positive development of the civil aircraft-building market, reports Itar-Tass.The gradual emergence of the global economy from the crisis helps to raise the demand for passenger air traffic. Show sponsors reported that over 800 rounds of talks with the participation of 150 companies that concluded contracts for a total sum of 47 billion US dollars, were held at the air show over one week of its work.
More than 10 billion dollars fall to Russian companies. For instance the Sukhoi Corporation won 161 orders for the delivery to its partners of its passenger airliner Sukhoi Superjet over the first three days of the air show. Great popularity was also enjoyed by Russian medium distance MS-21 jetliner whose deliveries are made by the Irkut Corporation.
The Rosoboronexport Company showed exhibition visitors the multifunctional super-manoeuvrable Su-35 fighter the training-combat plane Yak-130, the multifunctional attack fighter MiG-35 and its two-seat modification MiG-35D. Russian helicopters were also put on display at the Farnborough show.
However, civil aviation was the main attraction at the exhibition. Much attention at the show was given to new passenger airliners Boeing 787 Dreamliner and its European competitor A350 Airbus. Europe also demonstrated history’s biggest passenger plane A380.
The air show opened for the public at large on Saturday. Many companies demonstrated in practice flying possibilities of warplanes, manufactured by them, on this day. However, along with fighters, military transport planes and helicopters, the public witnessed history’s biggest A380 jetliner. Demonstration flights will also continue this Sunday.
