Japan Ambassador to Russia visits Kazan Federal University

Kono Masaharu tries to visit higher education institution in every part of the world he goes to.

(Kazan, July 15, Tatar-Inform). Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Russian federation Kono Masaharu visited Kazan Federal University on July 14.

Kazan University Rector Ilshat Gafurov told the guest about conferring the federal status to the university and the process of higher education reforms in Russia. Cooperation in such fields as physics, mathematics, nanotechnologies, genetics, biology, molecular biology, bioengineering was discussed. According to words of the rector, Kazan Federal University closely cooperates with Japan universities and scientific centers. The students from Kanazawa University undergo internships in Kazan; over 40 undergraduate and graduate students of Kazan University studied at the Japanese partner-university. Ilshat Gafurov pointed out positive result of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries’ scientific centers and thanked foreign colleagues for fruitful joint work.

Kono Masaharu said that every time he goes to different parts of the world he visits higher education institutions. The Ambassador was happy to find out that his country citizens study in Kazan. He paid attention to the tendency of consolidating relations between Japanese and Russian universities.
