Russians: fashion is a fine way to extract money from people
Seventy eight percent say a unique style could be created without spending a fortune.
(Kazan, March 11, Tatar-inform). Seventy two percent of Russian men prefer to dress in a modern style but take no notice of fashion, a poll by the SuperJob.ru research centre among 2,000 Russian men revealed. According to them, “fashion is a fine way to extract money from people”.
Completely indifferent to fashion are 26 percent of men. While among the 20-year-olds, 19 percent ignore fashion trends, nearly every third, 32 percent, does so among men aged above 50. Respondents say it is important that the clothes are “comfortable and practical”, while the trendiness of the design and colour of the clothes they buy is of practically no importance. As little as 2 percent called themselves true fashionists.
Seventy eight percent say a unique style could be created without spending a fortune. According to them it is “not the brand that matters but the quality of the clothes”, while “a fashion brand is a well-promoted business, nothing more”.
The leaning towards buying high-quality practical things, a majority of men say, 81 percent, allows them to renew their wardrobe when it is needed, rather than to follow a fashion trend. Some of them deny themselves buying clothes more often due to a lack of funds.
