According to Tatarstan Prime Minister, no doubt Kazan will remain an advanced city of our country.

(Kazan, March 10, Tatar-inform, Sergei Semerkin). Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov made a speech at the 48th session of Kazan City Duma at Kazan City Hall on March 10.

Head of Tatarstan Government indicated two key fields – preparation for Kazan Universiade-2013 and major repairs of apartment houses. As part of preparation for the Universiade-2013, he said, the city and the republic on the whole consolidated the sports sector; new sport sites have been constructed. Concerning organization of major repairs, the current volumes are not sufficient for Kazan – the programme must be continued.

“Preparation for the Universiade-2013 and the major repairs programme helped us to stabilize the situation,” Rustam Minnikhanov said. From his point of view, Kazan looks quite favourable in terms of revenue and production output on the background of other cities and the current economic situation. To compare, production output of Naberezhniye Chelny decreased twice last year.

The federal Government plans to allocate 10 billion roubles for construction of sport facilities in 2010, Tatarstan Prime Minister informed. Almost all sport objects in Kazan, apart from the largest ones, will be put into operation in 2010.

RT Prime Minister reminded that the commission under Tatarstan President, Tatarstan Ministry of Education and Science are working on the state programme of Tatarstan education system development (for 2010-2014).

Concerning modernization of schools, Rustam Minnikhanov said that the park of school computers had to be renewed. Moreover, all teachers are expected to be supplied with a personal computer.

“We are proud of our capital,” Tatarstan Prime Minister said concluding his speech. “This is the third capital of Russia, but the first – in sports. No doubt Kazan will remain an advanced city of our country.”
