Setting up more joint ventures will allow increase jobs by 6 thousand, CEO said.

(Kazan, March 10, Tatar-inform, Natalia Rybakova). Kamaz will within the optimistic scenario be able to restore its pre-crisis rates by 2013, general director Sergei Kogogin told the 46th session of the Naberezhnye Chelny’s city council.

“In 2009, the national auto industry was supposed to cease existing. The verdict was made early in the year. We managed to prevent this from happening, although in 2009 the company incurred losses,” said Kogogin. In his words, the company in 2009 implemented two cycles of an anti-crisis programme and coped with the task 100 percent. The Kamaz executives have formulated the tasks for 2010.”

“During the crisis year, we did not stop developing the company’s strategies,” enhanced the CEO. He went on to say some production facilities that were new for Naberezhnye Chelny and Russia would be built. The image of Kamaz will change. “We have drastically altered the production run’s structure and management. The growth in productivity at the auto giant in the crisis time was 23 percent,” noted Kogogin.

Over the year, the number of jobs decreased from 59 to 45 thousand. A total of 14 thousand people were made redundant. “We tried to contain social tensions on the job market. In the future, setting up joint ventures will allow us to increase the number of jobs by 6 thousand,” said Kogogin.
