Tatarstanians don’t participate in Bashkir and Tatar Songs Festival “Duslik Mony-2010”

Tomorrow is the deadline for submitting applications for participation in the selection stage of the festival of Bashkir and Tatar songs.

(Kazan, March 9, Tatar-inform, Lucia Kamalova). Tomorrow is the last day when applications for the first selection stage of the Bashkir and Tatar Songs Festival “Duslik Mony-2010” (“Song of Friendship”) can be submitted. The event will take place in Neftekamsk, the Republic of Bashkortostan on March 25-26.

It is a unique festival of Bashkir and Tatar songs. Meanwhile, the event organizers claim that Tatarstanians haven’t submitted applications for participation in “Duslik Mony-2010”.

“This festival aims at promoting friendship of nations, in particular, of Bashkortostan and Tatarstan. We were astonished to find out that Tatarstan performers haven’t submitted applications for the contest. Representatives of your republic took part last year,” head of the Department for Inter-regional Relations at Bashkortostan Republican Centre of Folk Arts, Zalifa Barlybaeva told Tatar-inform. Representatives of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and also St. Petersburg, Moscow, Orenburg and Chelyabinsk Regions confirmed their participation.

The Festival of Bashkir and Tatar Songs “Duslik Mony-2010” is held under the umbrella of Bashkortostan President Murtaza Rakhimov. The event organizers are the Republic of Bashkortostan Ministry of Culture and National Policy, the Republican Centre of Folk Arts, and Neftekamsk city administration.
