Naberezhnye Chelny to host first local junior public organisations forum

(Kazan, March 9, Tatar-inform). The first forum of the Tatarstan Transkama region's junior public organisations will on March 11 be held in Naberezhnye Chelny.

The inaugural event is held at the initiative of the Council of Junior Organisations of Tatarstan public organisation branch. The purpose is to set up an effective liaison, cooperation and coordination system for junior public associations in the Transkama region of Tatarstan.

The delegations of organisations from Naberezhnye Chelny, Yelabuga, Nizhnekamsk, Zainsk, Mendeleevsk, Menzelinsk, Almetievsk and the Tukaev district will attend the congress.

The event is part of the preparations for the 3rd Forum of Republic of Tatarstan Younger Citizens, the largest in terms of child public movement, biannually held with the participation of the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers.

On March 11, 2010, a solemn ceremony will be held to award the winners of the 21st Century Leader competition and pronounce the forum’s resolution.

The outcomes of the project called School of Leaders 2009-2010 will be summarised within the award ceremony as well.

The School of Leaders project is a unique educational project in both Tatarstan and Russia. The project has been implemented since 2005, over which time over 200 younger leaders have studied at the School.

The 2009-2010 studies were held between October 2009 and February 2010. The project’s participants were 67 leaders from 25 child and youth public associations, while 32 people who pass all the examinations successfully will be graduates.

Over the course of the studies, students take theoretical courses in the most relevant modern subjects with the help of best teachers from Naberezhnye Chelny and Tatarstan. Attendees at the School of Leader in 2009-2010 performed 25 social surveys, and designed and implemented 17 social projects.

The School of Leaders in 2009 won a grant from the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs of Russia.

On March 11, 2010, certificates will at the 21st Century Leader solemn award ceremony be presented to the school’s graduates, reports the city mayor’s press service.
