Microsoft: “Office 2010 will be launched on May 12”

Microsoft has officially announced the new Office 2010 package will be available on May 12.
(Kazan, March 7, Tatar-inform). Microsoft has officially announced that the new version of the Office 2010 package will be launched on May 12. It will however be only available for businesses, as only companies will conclude licences allowing them download the new products from the corporation’s website right after their release. End users will have to wait for about one and a half months, required to print and distribute disks.The software giant earlier said Office 2010 would be available for mass consumers within June.
The Microsoft corporation financial director said the company would starting this month offer users a free voucher, to upgrade the Microsoft Office package to the Office 2010 version. At the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference Peter Klein claimed Office 2010 Technology Guarantee would be launched in mid March.
The free upgrading of the Office 2007 to Office 2010 will continue until September 20, 2010. Everyone who buys the Office 2007 software in this time, will be able to upgrade it to the Office 2010 free of charge. The new version will be available at the Microsoft website. The users willing to receive Office 2010 on DVDs, will be given free disks and only charged for their delivery.
According to the programme’s terms, the buyers of the Office Home and Student 2007 will be given the corresponding version of Office 2010. Those who purchase Office Standard 2007, will be able to upgrade it to Office Home and Business 2010. The buyers of Office Small Business will receive Office Professional 2010.
Experts note the corporation had this quarter reserved about $350 million for the upgrading programme, reports cybersecurity.ru.
