Architectural Oscar first time awarded in Kazan
The state-run Tatinvestgrazhdanproekt was presented the prize For a Contribution to the Architecture of Kazan, for the Ekiyat puppet theatre design.
(Kazan, March 4, Tatar-inform, Mikhail Mironov). The Architectural Oscar has gone to the Tatarstan’s best architects. The award ceremony was on March 4 held in Kazan.
The prize’s organisers are the Tatarstan Ministry of Construction, Architecture, Housing and Utilities, TekhnoNIKOL corporation and the National Agency for Low-rise Construction. Invitees were all the leading architects of Tatarstan, representatives from construction firms and heads of the ministry.
The Architectural Oscar was awarded in 7 nominations. In the nomination The Best Public Construction Project the winner was the multiservice centre on Zorge Street in Kazan, performed by Tezelesh. The residential block 922, by Tatstroipro, was recognised as the best residential building. The best cottage settlement was voted Orekhovka, by TROO Iva. The prize for the best industrial facility was given to Inevstproekt for re-designing the production facility on Engels Street in Kazan.
The Best Home nomination prize went to the architectural workshop Old Kazan that designed a private residence in the Vedenkino settlement. The best low-rise construction project was voted Iris of the Tatarstan Mortgage Agency.

The architects thanked the organisers for the awards, noting the chief award for the authors of the projects was the fact that their idea had been made a reality.
