Yelabuga State Museum-Reserve has been included in 30 best museums of Europe.

(Kazan, March 2, Tatar-inform). Yelabuga State Museum-Reserve has been included in 30 best museums of Europe.

The European Museum Forum annually holds the contest for the title “Europe’s Best Museum”. Museums which opened or underwent re-exposition in the recent two years can take part in it. Over 80 applications have been submitted for participation this year. Only 30 out of them received the status of Europe’s best museums of 2010. Yelabuga State Museum-Reserve has been included in the list.

Experts of the European Museum Forum – Director of Luxembourg History Museums Daniel Vagner and Director of Barcelona Science Museum Jorge Vagensberg accompanied by the contest coordinator for the Russian Federation Yelena Petrova visited Yelabuga in October 2009. The examined Yelabuga museums and made decision to consider Yelabuga State Museum-Reserve as a whole, because each museum object meets the contest requirements.

A solemn rewarding ceremony will be held in Tamper, Finland on May 19-22, Tatarstan Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism press-service informs.
