Russian system of registration of medicines, food plagued by corruption – Putin

(Kazan, Mach 3, Tatar-inform). The Russian system of registration of medicines and food products is riddled with corruption, said Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

"The non-transparency of the registration procedures for medicines and food products and in the system for obtaining sanitary resolutions produces corruption schemes," Putin said at a government conference dealing with the optimization of the provision of government services in the healthcare and social protection areas.

Russia has a ramified system of government bodies and expert organizations, Putin said.

"However, we have to admit that the efficiency of their work is so far extremely low, and real risks are overlooked because of the desire to control everything," he said.
