Tatarstan delegation attends SIA 2010 show in Paris

Russian companies have over the past four years presented their products within a single national display.

(Kazan, February 27, Tatar-inform). The Porte de Versaille exhibition centre in Paris has today hosted the launch of the Salon International de L’Agriculture 2010 agricultural show. President of France Nicolas Sarkozy officially opened the exhibition. Russian Minister of Agriculture Yelena Skrynnik represented Russia at the ceremony.

Salon International de L’Agriculture 2010 is one of the largest shows in Europe and is held for the 47th time. The show will run until March 7, 2010. Russia’s official delegation is led by Minister Yelena Skrynnik. The delegation includes representatives from the Federation Council, State Duma, business community, heads of regions and others.

According to the Tatarstan Ministry of Agriculture, Tatarstan is represented by the deputy Prime Minister, Agriculture Minister Marat Akhmetov, Cabinet of Ministers department of agribusiness management, land relations and consumer market chief Anatoly Krasnov, State Duma deputy Airat Khairullin, Vamin Tatarstan general director Vagiz Mingazov, Tatpotrebsoyuz board chairman Makhmut Fattakhov, Sabin municipal district head Rais Minnikhanov and other officials.

Russian companies have over the past four years presented their products within a single national display. This year, agricultural producers from six Russian territories take part in the show, including the Tambov, Ulianov, Volgograd, Kostroma regions, Republic of Tatarstan and Yamalo Nenets autonomous district.

The Russian display area is over 300 square metres. The domestic agrarians have not only shown a wide range of food products but presented some investment offers for foreign partners.

An extensive business programme is part of the exhibition. A regional forum called Prospects and Trends in Russia-France Cooperation will be held today, to be attended by the Russia and France agriculture ministers, representatives from the two states’ political and business circles. On the same day, the Russia-France Agribusiness Committee will meet, and Russian Agriculture Ministry chief Yelena Skrynnik will hold bilateral meetings with France Minister of Agriculture and Fishing Bruno Le Maire, as well as with the International Federation of Agricultural Producers secretary general.
