Days of Mexico and Mexican Culture has been held at Kazan University since 2005.

(Kazan, February 25, Tatar-inform, Kristina Ivanova). Days of Mexico and Mexican culture has started today in Kazan.

The United Mexican States Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia Alfredo Perez Bravo, Kazan State University Rector Myakzyum Salakhov, Tatarstan First Vice-Minister of Culture Aydar Gaynutdinov and other officials took part in the solemn opening, which took place at the university.

Days of Mexico and Mexican Culture has been held on the basis of Kazan University since 2005. This year is of particular importance, as events are held within the framework of celebrating the 200th anniversary of Mexico’s independence, the 100th anniversary of Mexican revolution and the 120th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Mexico and Russia.

In his greeting speech, Alfredo Perez Bravo said that Kazan was the first Russian city he had visited after taking the office of Mexico Ambassador to the Russian Federation. Alfredo Perez Bravo expressed gratitude to Tatarstan Government, Kazan University authorities for support of the movement aimed at promoting Mexican culture in Russia and the republic.
