TURKSOY organization institutes award in journalism

(Kazan, February 19, Tatar-inform). The solemn ceremony of rewarding TURKSOY Award in the field of journalism was held in Ankara, Turkey, Tatarstan Ministry of Culture press-service informs.

The purpose of this award is to encourage journalists for covering work of TURKSOY aimed at preservation and popularization of the Turkic world cultural heritage.

TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kaseinov, chairman of the parliamentary group for cooperation with Azerbaijan, the Turkish Republic Parliament deputy Mustafa Kabakchi, the Turkish Republic Culture Minister’s advisor Ismet Yilmyz, representatives of mass media and the diplomatic body took part in the awarding ceremony.

The award laureates include Turkish mass media (TRT, the Anatolian agency) and foreign organizations AzTv, Azer Tadj (Azerbaijan) and ITAR TASS (Russia).

Representatives of the Republic of Tatarstan mass media will also receive the award in journalism. The ceremony will be held in March during the organization’s Secretary General Dusen Kaseinov’s official visit to Kazan.
