Tatarstan's share in total milk yield has since 2008 increased over 1 percent.

(Kazan, February 17, Tatar-inform, Sergei Semerkin). Tatarstan sells 9 percent of milk in Russia, said President Mintimer Shaimiev at a government award ceremony at the Kazan Kremlin.

The Tatarstan leader praised the local animal producers’ work, presenting the award Republic of Tatarstan Distinguished Grower to the production and marketing consultant at the Department of Agriculture and Food in the Arsk municipal region Khalima Khakimova.

In terms of gross milk yield, Tatarstan has retained its national leadership. The share of milk produced in Tatarstan in the total milk output has versus 2008 increased over 1 percent. the task for this year is to increase milk output in Tatarstan to 2 million tonnes.
