Last year, 252 professionals graduated from Kazan Veterinary Academy, as few as 99 are now employed by local farms.
(Kazan, February 16, Tatar-inform, Emma Sitdikova). The agricultural entities of Tatarstan are facing an acute staffing problem, lacking 600 veterinaries with a higher education. At 184 farms and agricultural firms, there are no veterinaries at all. The sad statistics were today presented at the veterinary service’s end-of-year meeting by the Cabinet of Ministers head veterinary department chief Bulat Kamalov.
“Chief veterinary inspectors need to be pro-active, making the heads of farms understand the importance of veterinaries. Do not be complacent, last year 500 apprentices received education in local veterinary associations and were made veterinary paramedics,” he said.
Last year, 252 professionals graduated from the Kazan Veterinary Academy, as few as 99 are now employed by local farms. Target measures and government support are needed, to attract professionals into villages, Bulat Kamalov holds.
